Ken Gardner accepted a position on the SW Board in 1961. His father, Wiley Gardner, was one of the organizers of the SW Polk Fire District. Ken has lived in the same house right outside of Dallas “since forever” as he states. His great grandfather bought the property in 1844, and Ken has lived on it since birth. Ken has had the opportunity to farm for a living, which he enjoys very much. He says that he loves being able to live out in the country, and feels lucky that he has been able to do what he likes as a career. Ken has been a member of several organizations through his lifetime. Some include an electric co-op, Consumers Power, which he previously was the Secretary/ Treasurer for. He was also on the Polk County Park and Recreation Board which no longer exists. In addition, he has been involved in many other farm related organizations. Ken is married to Mary Lou Gardner, celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary this month.
Bob Davis has been a SW Board member since 2003. He was a Firefighter/ Paramedic for the City of Salem for 37 ½ years. For 21 of those years, he held the position of Battalion Chief. He and his wife Deby will be celebrating their 30 year anniversary in November. Together they have 6 children and 13 grandchildren. After his wife retired in 2017, the two of them started a boarding kennel for dogs at their home. Between this and taking care of his 30 acre property and being a Board member, Bob has no trouble staying busy.
Keith Moore is our newest SW Board member, taking a position in March 2018. He has lived in Dallas for 42 years, and even graduated from Dallas High school in 1995. Keith has been married to his wife Maria for almost 16 years, and has 2 girls. Keith has previously been on the board for Kids Inc. He is currently the estimator for DC Electric. Both Keith’s father and father in-law have been in the fire service, which has allowed him the opportunity to work in and around fire stations and city government agencies in the past. He takes his responsibilities seriously, and is ready to bring that same level of dedication to his position on the SW Board of Directors.
